Free Income Tax Help
Beginning February 1st IRS/AARP trained volunteers will be available to prepare tax returns for seniors and low to middle income people.
All volunteer counselors are required to pass a number of tests dealing with basic returns to advanced and be proficient in computer skills All returns are electronically transmitted , the client receives a paper copy of their return, but there is no need to mail in anything.
Sites this year are:
Rochester ROOF: Monday, 10:00 to 2:00 (phone 360-273-6375)
Twin Cities Senior Center: Tuesday, 9:30 to 2:00 (phone 360-748-0061)
Centralia Library: Wednesday, 1:00 to 4:00 (phone 360-736-0115, Do NOT call the library number)
Chehalis Library: Saturday, 10:30 to 2:30 (phone 360-748-3301)
Salkum Library: Saturday, 10:30 to 2:30 (phone 360-985-2148)
*The Salkum and Chehalis libraries are open on alternate Saturdays
A site will be set up in Morton, but the dates are not yet firm.
All sites are by appointment only. To help the counselors, clients are asked to bring a copy of their 2010 return and all past year tax information. For more information, please call 360-262-9647.
