Community Investment Committee
The Community Investment Committee is a team of volunteers from all areas of our community that come together to ensure the individual contributions that are made to United Way of Lewis County are consolidated and allocated in a way that ensures the greatest positive impact. The Community Investment Committee works to be a part of the change; it takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future.
The community investment process is what helps make United Way of Lewis County unique. Volunteers meet with each non-profit organization that seeks funding from United Way and review programs organized according to the three impact areas of Fulfilling Basic Needs, Supporting Vulnerable and Aging Populations, and Nurturing Children and Youth. The volunteers thoroughly study agency program budgets and ask tough questions to insure donations to our United Way are used in the best possible way to meet the greatest needs in our community. Accountability and stewardship are achieved through extensive volunteer involvement in the Community Investment Committee.
The closing date to sign up to serve as a Community Investment Committee volunteer is February 14, 2012. Volunteer time commitment averages 20 hours over a six week time period.
