"Giving Tuesday" Brings in Over $14,000 for United Way of Lewis County

Encouraging Spending with a Purpose...

On Tuesday, December 2nd, a special day known as "Giving Tuesday", United Way of Lewis County took part in the worldwide effort to inspire charitable giving during the holiday season.

Coinciding with the Thanksgiving holiday and the kickoff of the shopping season, #GivingTuesday inspired people to take action to improve our local community; give back in better, smarter ways to the charities they support and help create a better Lewis County.

Through the kindness of an anonymous community member, all donations made to United Way of Lewis County that particular day were matched dollar-for-dollar, raising over $14,000 for United Way and the community at-large.

“Giving Tuesday is a movement to inspire generosity; not just another website to list our charity profile or an event that replaces our existing giving campaign. Giving Tuesday is an opportunity for United Way of Lewis County to draw attention to what our organization is doing in the community and its impact.” says Debbie Campbell, Executive Director of United Way of Lewis County.

Thank you to those who made a generous donation to United Way of Lewis County, your gift helps create brighter futures in our local community.

Happy Holidays!
