United Way of Lewis County Announces New Officers and Board Members for 2013


Newly elected board officers of the United Way of Lewis County Board of Directors  include President - Dan Zandell, Brusco Tug and Barge; President Elect - Sandy Yanish, TransAlta; Vice President – Todd Chaput, Holiday Inn Express & Suites; Past President- Derek Burger, Edward Jones; Treasurer- Chris Heck, First Citizens Bank; Campaign Chair- Teresa Loo, Port Blakely Tree Farms; Associate Campaign Chair- Court Stanley, Port Blakely Tree Farms; Leadership Giving Chair- Steve Bodnar, Superintendent, Centralia School District; Community Impact Chair- Doris Wood, Retired Centralia College.  Officers at Large include; Richard DeBolt, TransAlta; Rev. Alta Smith, United Methodist Church; Jeff Young, Lucky Eagle Casino; Dan Kay, Lewis County PUD, and Donna Olson, Lewis County Community Development.

Board Members are chosen based on their proven leadership in their respective fields as well as within the community.  Three new additions this year include; Peter Abbarno ,Olson, Althaeuser, Samuelson & Rayan, LLP, Haylee Bruce – Pacific Mobile Structures, and Mary Lou Bissett – Chehalis School District. 

Board Members re-elected to a new 3 year term include, Todd Chaput, Holiday Inn Express; Casey Cochrane, Puget Sound Energy;  Richard DeBolt, TransAlta; Dianne Dorey, Lewis County Assessor; Dan Kay, Lewis County PUD; Sue Muller, Retired, Lewis County PUD; Doris Wood, Retired – Centralia College, and Sandy Yanish, TransAlta. 

"United Way of Lewis County's Board of Directors is filled with dedicated people who are passionate about helping their community," said Debbie Campbell, executive director of the United Way of Lewis County. 

"They are the heart of United Way and we value their expertise and guidance to help make us one of the most effective and efficient United Ways in the state”.

"In particular, United Way of Lewis County has benefited from the tremendous leadership of Chris Heck, First Citizens Bank, our immediate past president. Chris  has given countless hours to help United Way continue to improve and grow.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to give a big thank you Chris and retiring board members, Maggie Knapp, Security State Bank, Barry Chappelle, TransAlta, and Brian Bailie – Great Wolf Lodge.” 

For more than 60 years, United Way of Lewis County has helped enrich community life by addressing critical issues.

Volunteers and donors research the needs of the community and develop strategies for assisting people who need it most, including children, families and individuals.

United Way of Lewis County currently provides funding for 16 partner agencies and programs that ensure the efficient use of donor dollars.
