Women United launches new Career Closet program with Visiting Nurses

Women United partners with Visiting Nurses to provide professional attire for those seeking employment.

Those working to lift themselves out of poverty often struggle to overcome a variety of hurdles. Even something as simple as a job interview can be difficult if one lacks the appropriate attire to make a positive first impression. Women United’s Career Closet eliminates this hurdle, empowering participants to attain financial independence in a new career by providing work-appropriate attire and resources.

A partnership between Women United and Visiting Nurses Foundation, the Career Closet allows participants to select up to five items of professional business attire, in preparation for a job interview or first few weeks of work.career closet

Interested participants can simply visit one of the following community partners to get started. These organizations will provide tools and resources, in addition to the required Career Closet voucher.

  • Cascade Community Healthcare
  • Reliable Enterprises
  • Express Employment

  • WorkSource Lewis County
